  • The company’s terms and conditions of service and customer approach will not change
  • WEBCOM sees the change of name as an opportunity to penetrate new markets
  • Konica Minolta will strengthen its position as an IT services provider in the Czech Republic

After two successful decades on the IT market, WEBCOM, one of the most important local partners of Microsoft, will be renamed to Konica Minolta IT Solutions Czech a.s. (KM ITSCZ) from 1 January 2019. The new company will be one of the three largest suppliers of CRM and ERP systems on the Microsoft Dynamics platform in Central and Eastern Europe. It will focus on the development of enterprise systems and modern technologies for corporate clients. The close cooperation with global brand Konica Minolta will strengthen the company’s current capacities and facilitate its entry into new markets.

The renaming of the company is the logical outcome of a process that began in 2015.

„This is not a surprising step for our employees or partners, nothing will change on our part with respect to access or the terms and conditions of the services provided,“ explained Stanislav Hlobilek, CEO of WEBCOM. „Thanks to the new synergies, however, we will be able to collaborate on large-scale and technologically demanding implementations and provide a more comprehensive enterprise solution than what has so far been offered by WEBCOM.“

„The fact that WEBCOM will become Konica Minolta is confirmation of our resolve to change from a product supplier to a partner in the areas of IT advisory, services and smart solutions,“ said Pavel Čurda, CEO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Czech (KM BCZ). „We aim to offer highly professional services and advice not only in traditional printing solutions, but also in business process management through new technologies and enterprise IT. This is an extremely effective and mutually beneficial partnership for us.“

WEBCOM has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1998 and currently employs more than 180 people. Last year it achieved turnover of CZK 362 million. In recent years, Konica Minolta has made similar acquisitions in Germany (Raber+Märcker GmbH, now Konica Minolta IT Solutions GmbH) and in France (Serians S.A.S.), for example. The structure of separate IT companies should contribute to the long-term expansion of Konica Minolta’s competencies in the field of services.
